The Group has aligned its policy of revenue recognition with Ind AS 115 "Revenue from Contracts with Customers" which is effective from 1st April, 2018. The Consolidated Total Income for the quarter ended March 31, 2018 was at Rs. 2092 crores as compared to Rs. 2098 crores in the corresponding quarter last year. However, Profit before tax was higher by 14%, at Rs. 284 crores as compared to Rs. 250 crores in the corresponding quarter last year.
The Consolidated Sales/Income from Operations for the quarter ended December 31, 2017 was higher by 14%, at Rs. 1365 crores as compared to Rs. 1194 crores in the corresponding quarter last year, aided by stronger performance across businesses.
The first of its kind Window Inverter AC, also has other features like ‘high ambient cooling’ up to 52 degree Celsius, and a ‘two stage filtration’ which provides cleaner air. The Consolidated Gross Sales/Income from Operations for the nine months period ended December 31, 2016 was higher by 4%, at Rs. 4011 crores as compared to Rs. 3870 crores in the corresponding period last year largely contributed by Unitary Cooling Products. Profit before tax was higher by 42%, at Rs. 470 crores as compared to Rs. 331crores last year.

The Consolidated Sales/Income from Operations for the six months period ended September 30, 2016 was higher by 8%, at Rs. 2817 crores as compared to Rs. 2605 crores in the corresponding period last year. Led by higher sales of Unitary Cooling Products, Profit before tax was higher by 40%, at Rs. 350 crores as compared to Rs. 249 crores last year. Profit after tax was also higher at Rs. 234 crores as compared to Rs. 166 crores last year.
Led by higher sales in both Products and Projects business segments, the Consolidated Sales/Income from Operations for the quarter ended June 30, 2016 was higher by 18%, at Rs. 1845 crores as compared to Rs. 1561 crores in the corresponding quarter last year. Profit before tax was higher by 53%, at Rs. 225 crores as compared to Rs. 147 crores last year.
With increase in sales across all business segments, the Consolidated Sales/Income from Operations for the year ended March 31, 2016 was higher by 13%, at Rs. 5832 crores as compared to Rs. 5144 crores in the corresponding period last year. Profit before tax was also higher by 7%, at Rs. 552 crores as compared to Rs. 514 crores last year.
The Consolidated Sales/Income from Operations for the six months period ended 30th September, 2015 was Rs. 2655 crores as compared to Rs. 2721 crores in the corresponding period last year. Profit before tax was higher at Rs. 236 crores as compared to Rs. 232 crores last year.
The Consolidated Sales/Income from Operations for the quarter ended 30th June, 2015 was at Rs.1595 crores as compared to Rs. 1752 crores in the corresponding quarter last year. Nevertheless, Net Profit after Minority Interest was marginally higher at Rs. 111 crores as compared to Rs. 109 crores in the corresponding quarter last year.
The coveted AHRI certification of quality has been awarded to 4 models of VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) - driven energy-efficient water-cooled screw chillers, entirely developed and manufactured by Voltas. The Consolidated Sales/Income from Operations for the six months period ended 30th September, 2014 was higher by 1.6% at Rs. 2721 crores as compared to Rs. 2678 crores in the corresponding period last year. Profit from Operations before Other Income, Finance Costs and Exceptional items was however significantly higher at Rs. 197 crores as compared to Rs. 81 crores in the corresponding period last year.

Now, at long last, after a year-and-a-half of intense concentrated effort to build this all-important relationship, the team bagged that prized multi-crore-rupee order for one set of jaw / cone / screening plant for L&T's railway project at Shambalpur, Orissa.

At the 2012 MEP Middle East Awards held in Dubai on November 28th, Voltas yet again walked off with two of the most coveted awards. Voltas was awarded MEP Contractor of the Year' for the 3rd year running and 'Overall GCC Project of the Year' for Abu Dhabi's Yas Waterworld, shared with the consultancy firm WS Atkins.

Voltas, India's largest air conditioning company, has received a large order from CMS Infosystems (CMSI), for 10,000 split AC units to be deployed at thousands of ATM sites for State Bank of India, spread across the country. The order follows from CMSI's recent victory in their tender bid for air conditioning 7805 ATM locations of SBI, requiring totally 15,000 split ACs.

Voltas has won its bid to provide 1000HP Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) for all 133 apartments in the Mantri Pinnacle at Bengaluru – to be South India's tallest residential tower upon completion, at 152m. A total area of 4,13, 850 sq ft will be air conditioned with Voltas VERVE series Inverter Scroll VRF systems – making this the single largest residential VRF installation in South India to date
With investor sentiment gradually reawakening in many Middle-Eastern states, Voltas has reasserted its long-established standing as a trusted EPC contractor for electromechanical projects. The first fruits have been 3 substantial orders totalling Rs 1000 crores in value, raising expectations that more will follow. These are the Integrated Health Centre and Workers' Hospital, a 120-bed healthcare facility in the Old Industrial Area of Qatar. Voltas has been awarded the Rs 250-crore contract for environmental control and tunnel ventilation of Delhi's Mass Rapid Transport System (Phase III), which had been the focus of intense competition among numerous well-known firms from India and overseas. The project will cover eight underground stations and connecting tunnels, totalling 11.27 kms in length, and requiring 42 chillers of more than 10500 TR combined tonnage.

Voltas and Benninger AG (a leading Swiss textile machinery manufacturer) today jointly announced entering into a distribution agreement for sales and marketing of Benninger’s products in India. Their co-operation is expected to strengthen both Voltas and Benninger’s outreach across the rapidly expanding Indian textile equipment market.
Once again, Tata Steel shows its confidence in Voltas’ capabilities – with an order largely for HVAC works at its greenfield Kalinganagar Steel Plant. The L950 LeTourneau electric loader, supplied by Voltas M&CE, was recently declared the best performing Machine at EMTA's Panem Mines in Pakur, Jharkhand, which produces 10MT coal annually, for use by the Punjab State Electricity Board. This Honour, won for the second consecutive year, is testimony to the Voltas team's drive, determination and technical capability.

At the 2011 MEP Middle East Awards banquet at Address Marina Hotel, Voltas' Electrical Mechanical Division(EMD) was once again the star of the show. The Voltas-EMD team walked away with the most prestigious honour, namely 'MEP Contractor of the Year'. The award was a tribute to Voltas' outstanding MEP work on the landmark Etihad Towers project in Abu Dhabi.
Voltas has triumphed in its hotly-contested bid for the design-and-build contract for Phase 1 of the Chennai Metro Rail project. The scope of work covers HVAC works for 19 underground stations, including one crossover station, spanning a 24 km distance.
The company recently secured a massive order from the Ludhiana-based Abhishek Group for an array of spinning equipment. This includes a Melange unit of 30,000 spindles, one OE Preparatory unit, and two units of 75,000 spindles each for spinning locations in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. The order is a sizeable triumph for Voltas, and a huge step towards the Abhishek Group’s vision of expanding its spinning capacity to 7.5 lakh spindles by FY2013.
Voltas achieved the largest-ever volume of concrete poured in a single day, on its canal pumping plant project at Chowbhaga. A part of the ongoing Kolkata Environmental Improvement Project (KEIP), the job required the pouring of 700 cu. m. of concrete at 10m. below ground level. To add to the difficulty, the base had a 3m. variance between its upper and lower ends, throwing it off the horizontal plane.
The company’s Electro-mechanical & Refrigeration business executed HVAC works of 55TR in just 29 days, for Titan Industries’ watch assembly unit at Pantnagar. The feat earned the personal congratulations of Bhaksar Bhat, MD of Titan Industries. The record-breaking task was accomplished through effective coordination with civil, electrical and other contractors, meticulous planning, on-schedule delivery of materials, and quick responses to all work-related contingencies.
The 6th Bry-Air Award for Excellence in HVAC&R (system design) was presented to Voltas recently. The award is in recognition of the outstanding indigenous design of the 1300 TR Co-gen VAM installed at Thyagaraj Stadium in Delhi, for the Commonwealth Games 2010. The design challenge was to maximize capacity while occupying minimum space, due to severe constraints.
The consolidated Sales/Income from operations for the quarter ended 31st March, 2012 was Rs. 1573 crores as compared to Rs. 1671 crores in the corresponding quarter last year. Operating Profit for the quarter was Rs 138 crores as compared to Rs. 145 crores in the corresponding quarter last year.
Voltas, a Tata Group company, has launched its new range of 39 SKUs for the summer season, with a generous array of choices in terms of technology, features, aesthetics and price points.
The company has been awarded the HVAC contract for the under-construction Paryavaran Bhawan in Delhi, which is projected for LEED Platinum rating. The building will house the HQ of the Ministry of Environment & Forests, and features a slew of eco-conscious and energy-saving measures to achieve net-zero energy consumption as well as a zero-carbon footprint.
The Consolidated Sales/Income from Operations for the quarter ended 30th September, 2011 was at Rs. 1108 crores as compared to Rs. 1072 crores in the corresponding quarter last year. Operating Profit (Profit before Tax & Exceptional Items) was Rs.34 crores as compared to Rs.118 crores in the corresponding quarter last year.
It’s been an astounding victory for Voltas' Unitary Products Business Group, whose entry titled - 'A flexible and low-cost business model' - won in the ‘Promising Innovations: Support Process’ category at Tata Innovista 2011. Their entry was up against the most high-calibre global competitors across the Tata Group, in a contest which attracted 3,234 entries from 80 Group companies in 11 countries.

Operating Profit (Profit before Tax & Exceptional Items) was Rs. 109 crores as compared to Rs. 137 crores in the corresponding quarter last year.
Metro rail is the emerging growth segment in urban infrastructure, as more and more cities struggle to cope with the demands of mounting road congestion. It's a growth path for Voltas' EM&R (Electro-Mechanical & Refrigeration) business too, on which it's now leaped ahead with a winning bid for Phase 1 of the Chennai Metro.
Voltas Limited and KION Group GmbH have agreed to establish a joint venture in India for the development, manufacture, marketing, and servicing of forklift trucks and warehousing equipment. Voltas’s material handling operations will be integrated into a new joint venture company (JV), where the KION Group will hold a majority share. The JV Company will be named Voltas Materials Handling (VMH) and is expected to start operations in April 2011.
The consolidated Sales I Income from Operations was higher by 5% at Rs. 1048 crores, as against Rs. 994 crores in the same period last year. Profit after Tax and Minority Interest was at Rs. 71 crores, as compared to Rs. 76 crores in the same period last year.
Voltas walked away with a rich trove of highly coveted honours at the MEP Awards 2010, held on December 12 in Dubai. The Board of Directors of the Company have approved the proposal to form a Joint Venture Company (NC) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) with Olayan Financing Company for execution of electro-mechanical projects in KSA. Accordingly, incorporation of a limited liability company under the laws of KSA has been agreed.

Voltas Limited has entered into an alliance with M/s Thies of Germany, to offer enhanced value to customers, and support the growth of Indian textiles to its fullest potential, by selling & servicing Thies products in India. The relationship promises to be a fruitful combination of complementary strengths: Voltas as a long-established provider of project solutions and technology support for Indian textiles; and M/s Thies with their global pre-eminence in solutions for the textile processing industry.
Voltas has secured two sizeable orders totalling Rs 38 crores: one from Tata Steel for a 25 MGD water treatment plant at Jamshedpur, and the other from Kolkata Metropolitan Water & Sanitation Authority for a 15 MGD water treatment plant as well as a UGR-cum-pump station of 0.75MGD capacity. These two substantial orders add up to credentials which put Voltas firmly in the running - and the bidding - for future water treatment projects of such higher capacities.
Voltas' Electro-mechancial business has secured two orders worth Rs 300 cr. for electro-mechanical projects for the most prestigious and noteworthy 'new generation' airports in India, namely Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport, and Chennai International airport. At the new Integrated Passenger Terminal of Kolkata's international airport, Voltas is undertaking HVAC, internal electrification, and plumbing & drainage system works, to be completed in 24 months.
With a view to leveraging emerging opportunities in the technical textiles industry, Voltas has commenced tying-up with machinery manufacturers (principally from Europe) who are regarded as the best in their fields, with the ability to fulfil European quality norms while remaining cost-effective. These include Dilo Group, for non-woven products, Brueckner, for coating and finishing of textiles, Hansa Mixers, for coating or finishing material preparation and Wumag Texrolls, for heat setting and surface finishing of technical textiles.
In developing the 2010 range, Voltas kept in mind the market’s heterogeneous nature, with its diversity of priorities, preferences, income groups and aesthetic tastes. However, certain key attributes remain standard right across the spread of models. These include the new eco-system technology, self-diagnosis, auto-louver step adjustment, optimized cross-flow vane and other intelligent features, energy-efficiency, addressing rising consumer consciousness about 'green' issues, and the larger considerations of sustainability and low operating costs, with a sensible cooling solution for every household.
Voltas has secured a large order for a water treatment plant in the East Zone. Located at Palta, Barrackpore (north of Kolkata), the project envisages a 15MGD water treatment plant as well as 0.75MGD capacity UGR-cum-pump station. This project is sanctioned under JNNURM (Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission) Scheme, and is scheduled for completion in 18 months.
Voltas volunteers registered enthusiastically for the dream run in the Mumbai Marathon 2009, in a cause taken up by Voltas' own internal trust, the Voltas Organization of Women, towards improving the quality of life of communities they have served for four decades. The theme was 'Energy Conservation', a fitting credo for an event in which runners strove to sustain their stamina over a gruelling test of endurance.

Since 2001, Voltas has partnered with the Joseph Cardijn Technical Institute (JCTI) for vocational training. As its 'core competency project', Voltas conducts a certificate course in air conditioning in coordination with the Institute. 10 students of JCTI, in the categories of 'Voltas RAC mechanics' and 'Defence', visited Voltas' Thane works, where they viewed a detailed presentation on the entire range of HVAC and refrigeration products manufactured at our Thane, Dadra and Pantnagar plants.
A K Joshi, President of Voltas’ Electro-Mechanical Projects & Service business, has been elected president of RAMA (Refrigeration & Air conditioning Manufacturers’ Association), India’s only apex body for manufacturers in the industry. RAMA is an active force and influence in issues ranging from government policy to customer focus and trade.

As part of Voltas Bangalore's community Initiative drive, volunteers and their families visited ANURAGA, an institute dedicated to educating poor children from the slums. Voltasites participated in their sports activities and general knowledge interactions – with some lively questions from the children. Voltasites encouraged the children by awarding token prizes to the game winners; they also contributed towards blackboards, note books, and a year's supply of pencils for the children.
At the Board Meeting of the Company held today, the Directors have approved the Memorandum of Understanding between Mustafa Sultan Enterprises L.L.C., Muscat, Sultanate of Oman and Voltas Limited for joint venture operations for execution of electro-mechanical (MEP) projects in Sultanate of Oman.

Voltas' new brand shop in Bangalore features an elegant and visually appealing display of all Voltas' product ranges – part of an enhanced shopping experience for customers. The display of ACs is the first of its kind by any air conditioner brand in India. The customer enjoys the opportunity to operate and experience at first hand the workings of an AC.
Mr. Sanjay Johri has taken over as Managing Director of VoltasLimited on 23rd April 2010. Mr. Johri has worked with Voltas since 2004, initially in the corporate area, and thereafter as COO of the Unitary Products Business Group, the Materials Handling Division, and the Mining & Construction Equipment Division.

The Board of Directors of Voltas Limited have appointed Mr Sanjay Johri the CEO-designate of the Company with immediate effect. He will take over as Managing Director on April 22, 2010 upon the retirement of Mr Ashok Soni. Mr Johri, aged 56 years, has worked with Voltas since September 2004 in various capacities
Voltas very recently won a coveted Export Excellence award, as Star Performer - Medium Enterprise, in the product group of Project Exports. The award was in recognition of the company's outstanding contribution in engineering exports in 2006-07, and was presented by the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) India - Western Region.
Bangalore witnessed the rapid spread of brand Voltas in two of its hottest localities commencing in November 2008. This surge came close on the heels of the launch of a new brand store in end-October 2008, and took the form of two launches in a single day.
